Heavenletters is an international non-profit spiritual organisation with readers from all around the world. With over 3300 Heavenletters already published and a strong community, the organisation was looking for ways to serve and nuture the growing community as well as spread Heavenletters far and wide. Their legacy website was not being updated often and the only contact with the community was via a daily newsletter called Heavenletters. The community had also formed a Yahoo group and enjoyed the concept of interacting with community members from around the world.

Highlights of this project

• migrated over 3500 html documents into a database
• customised setup of the Drupal content management system
• migrated the forum posts from the phpbb forum to Drupal
• created a custom design for the organisation
• provided a translation system and workflow for volunteers to add their translations directly to the website
• integrated Drupal with an external newsletter management system for the high volume emails sent out daily (approx. 1.8 million emails sent out annualy)
• internationalization and multi-lingual publishing from website to newsletter
• community features (forum, comments and user profiles)
• trained volunteers on the use of Drupal
• formed a publishing workflow from draft to proofed to published
• search engine optimisation
• maintained existing urls that were indexed by search engines
